Almost Home Afterschool Program Shames JCC on the Hudson | Tarrytown, NY

Keep the Program Running. Make a Difference Every Day.

Are you energetic, organized, and passionate about working with children? Join the Almost Home team as a Program Assistant and play a key role in creating a safe, fun, and welcoming afterschool experience for elementary-aged students.

Every afternoon is different! You'll help welcome children as they arrive, supervise transitions between activities, support daily operations, and ensure our program runs safely and smoothly.

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday | 2:00–6:00 PM
  • Follows the Tarrytown & Irvington school calendars
  • Approximately 180 days per school year
  • Paid orientation, required training, and scheduled early dismissal days

What You'll Do

  • Welcome children as they arrive from school buses.
  • Supervise safe transitions between activities.
  • Escort children throughout the building as needed.
  • Assist with curbside dismissal and safe pick-up procedures.
  • Prepare and distribute snack.
  • Stock supplies and help keep program spaces organized.
  • Support special events and daily program operations.
  • Provide active supervision while creating a positive, inclusive environment for all children.
