Job Title:Graduate Assistant, Athletic Development


Division: Athletics & University Advancement

Department: Athletic Development

Reports to: Dr. Brett Burchette, Sr. Associate AD / Director of Athletic Development

Location: On Campus (McAuliffe Hall)

Compensation: $12,000 stipend, 18 graduate credit hours per year

Primary Duties: Responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Athletic Development team at Fairfield University, including, but not limited to:

  • Work with Assistant Director of Athletic Annual Giving & Events, Friends of Athletics Groups, and head coaches to support the planning & staffing of athletic development events

  • Create and manage content to be used for Athletics Phon-a-thon and Thank-o-thon calling throughout the year

  • Assist in Senior Class Gift campaign for athletics, collection of money, marketing needs for the program.

  • Assist in the use and implementation of social media channels (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn) to sustain and enhance a culture of philanthropy around Fairfield Athletic Development.

  • Work with coaches to distribute gift reports, thank you notes, and collection of thank you notes to be sent out to donors.

  • Assisting with all aspects of the annual giving program, creation, development, and implementation of fundraising events, emails, follow-ups.

  • Work as a liaison with Club, Recreation and Intramural Sports to help drive participation and fundraising success on GivingTuesday and STAGiving Day

  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the Athletic Development office.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • Enrolled in a Graduate Degree program

  • Interested in working Sports and Development

  • Past experience in collegiate athletics at the Division I, II, or III level (Varsity or Club level)

  • Must be available for work on nights and weekends

  • Must be able to work with confidential information on alumni, parents and other donors
