Job Description Summary:

The Senior Manager, Software Engineering will lead the engineering organization responsible for Rocket Software's Enterprise Data Integration portfolio. The Senior Manager, Software Engineering will be part of Rocket Software's dynamic team of domain experts who work at a fast pace and who expect the best from themselves, their peers, and their teams. This individual will be responsible for a global team of software and quality engineers focused on building world-class software solutions. Rocket's Enterprise Data Integration solutions support business-critical customer operations across mainframe, distributed, hybrid, and cloud environments. The successful candidate will be accountable for engineering execution, software quality, customer success, operational readiness, and product innovation. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of building high-performance teams, driving accountability and continuous improvement, navigating complex customer situations, and developing future leaders. They are passionate about modern engineering practices and leveraging Artificial Intelligence to improve engineering productivity, software quality, and product capabilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead a global team of software and quality engineers responsible for Enterprise Data Integration solutions. Engage with executive leadership to accomplish strategic product development, quality, innovation, and business objectives. Partner with Product Management, Architecture, Technical Support, and other stakeholders to deliver innovative, high-quality, and supportable software solutions. Drive engineering execution, software quality, modernization initiatives, and predictable product delivery. Lead and set direction for the design, implementation, testing, maintenance, enhancement, and modernization of software capabilities. Foster engineering excellence through strong design, automation, testing, security, and quality practices. Lead teams supporting business-critical customer operations, ensuring effective response to customer escalations, production incidents, and operational events. As a leader of a globally distributed engineering organization supporting business-critical software, participate as required in activities outside normal business hours to support critical incidents, major customer escalations, release events, and operational commitments. Build and sustain a high-performance culture focused on accountability, ownership, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Coach, mentor, and develop talent while effectively managing performance and building future leaders. Champion AI-enabled engineering practices and identify opportunities to leverage AI within both engineering workflows and product capabilities. Promote knowledge sharing, cross-training, and collaboration across globally distributed teams.

Required Qualifications:
  • Significant software engineering experience, including leadership responsibility for enterprise software solutions.
  • Demonstrated success building, leading, and developing high-performance engineering teams.
  • Strong technical leadership across mainframe, distributed, hybrid, and cloud environments.
  • Experience delivering and supporting business-critical software solutions.
  • Proven ability to lead through customer escalations, production incidents, and operational challenges.
  • Experience driving accountability, execution excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience managing performance, coaching employees, and making difficult leadership decisions with professionalism and integrity.
  • Experience evaluating and adopting emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and modern engineering practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Enterprise Data Integration, data movement technologies, metadata management, data governance, databases, or related enterprise software platforms.
  • Experience driving modernization initiatives while maintaining operational stability and customer commitments.
  • Experience implementing AI-enabled engineering practices or AI-powered product capabilities.
  • Strong listening skills, intellectual curiosity, and passion for innovation.
