Location: Indianapolis, IN
Pay: $20-24 per hour

About the Role
The Manager in Training (MIT) program is a structured leadership development program designed to prepare candidates for a Store Manager position. During this approximately 12-week program, you will gain hands-on experience across all aspects of store operations, leadership, and performance management.
This role is ideal for individuals who are motivated to grow into a leadership position and are eager to learn how to run a successful retail operation.
What You'll Do
Leadership & Staff Management
  • Support recruiting, training, and supervising store staff
  • Learn scheduling, payroll review, and employee relations practices
  • Provide coaching and support to team members and program participants

Store Operations
  • Learn donation intake, product sorting, pricing, and merchandising
  • Support strategies to meet production and sales goals
  • Assist with maintaining store appearance, safety, and compliance standards

Customer Experience
  • Deliver excellent customer service and create a positive shopping environment
  • Support customer engagement and retention efforts
  • Model positive interactions for store staff

Financial Management
  • Learn cash handling procedures and daily deposit processes
  • Support inventory tracking and loss prevention practices
  • Assist with maintaining store operations within budget

Communication & Reporting
  • Review daily sales and production metrics

Qualifications
Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years retail experience (thrift experience a plus)
  • Valid Driver's License
