Job description

The Learning & Development Programs Manager designs, plans, and executes training programs to improve advisor performance and efficiency. Serve as the primary facilitator of the Bankโ€™s New Advisor Orientation, New Supervisor training and Leadership Programs. Assess training needs in the organization and creates appropriate training programs to address those needs. Use adult learning theory to, design/develop training to meet established goals, and deliver personal skill development and leadership training for the organization. Modify existing courses to reflect updated information, skills, and processes and create new courses as needed. Facilitate training using corporate web-conferencing/training tools.

Principal Accountabilities

Designs, plans and executes training programs for advisors and leaders. Evaluates training needs and creates training programs to address identified training needs. Selects training materials from vendors or designs and develops exemplary courses for Advisors and management using adult learning theory. Facilitate learners in acquiring knowledge, skills and competencies in an effective and engaging manner to support the organizationโ€™s strategic initiatives, performance goals and learning objectives. Enhance the Advisor experience and support promotion and retention objectives. Evaluates effectiveness of training programs and identifies opportunities for innovating training programs. Represent the Bank to both internal and external customers in a courteous, professional manner in face-to-face, written and telephone communications.A ccountable for adherence to compliance standards including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), as well as quality and timeliness of work product generated. Actively protect confidentiality of customer and account information. Demonstrate Horizon Bankโ€™s commitment to the communities we serve through involvement in local organizations and events

Duties
  • Assess corporate training needs and Identify gaps
  • Design and manage large-scale corporate training programs to address identified needs and other training needs/requirements identified by the organization. Keep training programs up to date and relevant.
  • Administer budgets for training programs and manage external training resources.
  • Act as project manager for training projects and programs.
  • Design corporate level training courses (or select training materials from vendors) using adult learning theory that result in course materials such as needs analysis, participant handbooks, facilitator guides, multimedia visual aids, computer training tools, reference material and evaluation tools
  • Assess third party content and create training programs/experiences utilizing the content
  • Deliver/facilitate corporate learning programs such as New Advisor Orientation, New Supervisor training, and LEADS high-potential training program.
  • Facilitate effective, innovative and interactive training programs to address Advisor and management development needs.
  • Keep up to date on training trends, developments and best practices.
  • Provide train-the-trainer for other L&D professionals who teach core courses โ€“ New Advisor Orientation and New Supervisor training.
  • Use a virtual training tool (e.g. Zoom) as primary delivery tool for corporate courses and design and/or modify courses for that delivery method
  • Provide development coaching to leaders and Advisors to support the organizationโ€™s commitment to learning
  • Provide administrative support for learning programs
  • Report suspicious transactions or unusual occurrences to supervisor.
  • Conduct and document periodic risk reviews and run reports as needed
  • Perform all work in compliance with established regulations, policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and instructions.
  • Maintain customer confidence and protect bank operations by keeping information private and confidential.
  • Participate in ongoing skill, compliance, risk management and security training as required for the position and apply knowledge in daily tasks
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
  • BA/BS degree in Organizational Development, Human Development, Education, Training & Development, Communications, Business Administration or a related field. Degree may be substituted with additional years of corporate training experience.
  • 3 or more yearsโ€™ experience managing enterprise training programs
  • 3 or more yearsโ€™ experience designing and developing training courses using structured adult learning theory for all levels of an organization
  • 3 or more yearsโ€™ experience delivering training to all levels of an organization; prior experience facilitating orientation is preferred
  • 2 or more yearsโ€™ experience designing and delivering supervisor and leadership training preferred
  • 2 or more yearsโ€™ experience using virtual training tools (such as Zoom) to deliver training
  • Prior experience with personality assessments and tools preferred (such as DiSC)
  • Knowledge of training industry best practices, techniques, methods, theories, materials and programs for leadership and employee development training
  • Proven project manager
  • Possess excellent verbal and written commination skills; strong ability to coach
  • Thorough knowledge of PC applications; including Microsoft Office preferred. Commitment to regulatory compliance.
