About the Role

We are seeking a strategic Director, Peabody Development to work within our St. Louis Headquarters, with offices located in Des Peres, Missouri. This pivotal role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, recommending, negotiating, and executing corporate, domestic, and international business opportunities that support the company's strategic plan.

Duties

You will lead and execute all phases of Peabody Development activities, including joint venture development, business planning, transaction analysis, financial modeling, due diligence, negotiations, commercial documentation, and transaction execution. This role is responsible for identifying opportunities to maximize value from Peabody's assets through a strong understanding of energy markets, emerging technologies, competitor activity, and regulatory requirements, while also managing existing commercial agreements and joint venture partnerships to support the company's strategic and operational objectives.

Salary

The salary range for this role is $193,000 - $253,000.

About You Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree/training in related field preferred
  • Candidates with a background in mining, energy, power, investment banking, or private equity will be given strong consideration
  • Demonstrated skills in evaluating and negotiating business transactions.
  • Ability to understand organizational goals and proactively identify opportunities to meet them.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills for financial modeling and evaluating opportunities.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills to quickly and effectively resolve issues.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships across both operational and corporate functions, as well as with external joint venture partners.
  • Ability to act and make decisions independently and provide support for those decisions.
  • Ability to lead and motivate others and delegate responsibilities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members, departments, and external stakeholders.
Experience
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience in finance, financial planning, mine operations, technical disciplines, or sales and marketing. Additional experience beyond these requirements is considered a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks, which may include prolonged sitting or standing.
  • Must have the ability to move throughout an office environment.
  • Must be able to use a computer.
  • Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • This position is a full-time role based at Peabody's Corporate Headquarters in Des Peres, St. Louis, Missouri.
  • Peabody offers flexible work policies, including hybrid office/home work arrangements and the opportunity to finish at noon on Fridays.
