What does a training coordinator do?

A training coordinator oversees the employee training program for a company. The job of a training coordinator is to communicate with team leads and identify the training requirements for departments and individuals within the organization. As a training coordinator, your responsibilities include the development, management, and coordination of education sessions and programs. Some training coordinators are independent contractors, serving as freelance advisors to various companies, while others are direct Human Resources (HR) employees of a business. To thrive as a Training Coordinator, you need strong organizational skills, knowledge of instructional design, and a relevant bachelor's degree, often in human resources or education. Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), presentation software, and sometimes certifications like CPTD (Certified Professional in Talent Development) are typically required.
