MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY GROUP TEAM LEADER

The Medical Technology Group Team Leader provides direction and leadership to their team of Application Engineers. They develop their team and gain their trust and respect during the execution of Makino's support to the Medical industry. This position requires expertise in all aspects of Applications Engineering while leading a team of Application Engineers. This position requires excellent communication, organizational skills, and the ability to delegate tasks to ensure that projects stay on schedule and within scope. This is an in-office position located at our corporate office in Mason, OH.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead Applications Engineers
    • Develop application staff supporting the medical industry in both technical and professional skill sets
    • Provide technical assistance and guidance to applications engineers as required on specific projects
    • Assure compliance by the team in following documented procedures
    • Evaluate and identify growth areas for Medical Applications staff
    • Prioritize tasks for AE's
    • Organize team meetings
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives

  • Support Project Proposals
    • Evaluate technical needs on new pre-sale projects
    • Develop fixture and workholding concepts
    • Develop Time Estimate
    • Oversee and provide guidance on test cuts for medical applications staff
    • Develop presentations illustrating process methods and cycle times
    • Develop proposal pricing utilizing the internal PECF form.

  • Execute Employee and Customer Training
    • Organize training events for internal and external customers
      • Develop relevant training content and create associated presentations and documentation for development and growth of our Application Engineers supporting the medical industry.
      • Develop relevant training content and create interactive presentations supporting the development of our Sales Engineers supporting the medical industry.
      • Develop and provide sales tools supporting the Makino advantage with our technology.
      • Support the development of medical focused specific training for customers.

  • Technical Content Development
    • Oversee Machine platform and function testing for medical applications
    • Investigate and test new technologies
    • Lead development and evaluation of new processing techniques and technologies

  • Customer Support Requirements
    • Perform pre application meetings with customers in support of new machine installs
    • Attend project kickoff meetings
    • Provide project leadership in conjunction with the Project Manager
    • Manage Applications Engineering activities with customers and internal departments
    • Advise on project technical direction and schedule
    • Participate in customer meetings and help to resolve issues
    • As needed, travel to customer locations, including potential international travel
    • Manage the AE team performing scheduled tasks
    • Motivate the AE team and resolve schedule conflicts
    • Review and direct AE team on workload, travel, and schedule
    • Provide technical expertise and assist with troubleshooting as needed

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES - Manage Senior AE's, AE'S, Co-ops and technical support partners as required
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Project and sales driven, up to 40% monthly
  • Supplemental Compensation available when applicable
