People & Culture Coordinator

The People & Culture Coordinator is responsible for supporting day-to-day HR operations, recordkeeping, training coordination, and HRIS administration to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all routine People & Culture functions. This position serves as a key support role to the People & Culture team by maintaining employee records, supporting compliance efforts, and assisting with employee lifecycle processes while delivering a high level of service to internal stakeholders. The pay rate for this role is: $25-$32 per hour. Schedule is Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine tasks required to support the administration of human resource programs including benefits, leave, performance management, and training and development
  • Complete tasks within the requisition, pre-employment, onboarding, and offboarding processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee data
  • Support HRIS data integrity by reviewing employee records for accuracy and coordinating updates related to benefits, status changes, and personnel actions
  • Maintain and update HRIS records, run standard reports, and support system audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable federal and California employment laws through accurate documentation and recordkeeping practices
  • Maintain personnel, medical, and other confidential employee files in accordance with record retention requirements
  • Assist with coordination and tracking of required training and manage training workflows within HRIS systems
  • Respond to employment verification requests and other standard HR inquiries
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries, providing timely and accurate information and escalating complex matters as appropriate
  • Collaborate with managers and leadership to support HR initiatives and ensure consistent application of policies and procedures

Preferred Experience/ Minimum Qualifications: Required

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant HR administrative or coordinator experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Suite
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience working in a nonprofit environment
  • Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., UKG or similar platforms)
  • Working knowledge of California employment practices and compliance requirements
