Job description

Connect Staffing is hiring an Inventory Coordinator for an outdoor building materials distribution yard in Riverside, CA. This is a temp-to-hire position paying $27.18/hr, Monday–Saturday with overtime available. In this role, you will walk the yard to identify mismatched, aging, or misplaced material, and conduct inventory cycle counts. This is a long-term placement with a full benefits package available upon hire, including union benefits.


Pay: $27.18/hr

Schedule: Monday–Saturday, 9am until work is completed

Location: Riverside, CA

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Work Environment: Outdoor Yard / Building Materials Distribution


Responsibilities


  • Walk the yard daily to identify mismatched, aging, or misplaced material and ensure units are stored in the correct bays.
  • Conduct inventory cycle counts and maintain accurate stock records across the yard.
  • Train new associates on yard processes, equipment operation, and correct job procedures — including where material goes, forklifts, and yard equipment.
  • Monitor PPE compliance across the yard, including safety glasses, work boots, and proper lifting techniques.
  • Report accidents, safety concerns, equipment failures, or behavioral issues to yard supervision immediately.


Minimum Requirements


  • 2+ years of inventory experience in a warehouse, yard, distribution, or production environment.



Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with stock rotation and bay organization in a yard or warehouse environment.
  • Familiarity with SOP development or updating written safety and operations procedures.
  • Experience receiving inbound freight from rail cars, flatbeds, or delivery vans.
  • Experience in building materials, lumber, landscaping supply, or outdoor distribution environments.
  • Prior lead or training responsibilities — cross-training team members or onboarding new hires.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish — reading, writing, and speaking.
