Per Diem - MFM Sonographer | Boston Childrens Hospital

Position Summary: This role involves performing both routine and complex obstetrical ultrasound examinations under a physician's guidance, collaborating closely with radiologists, and ensuring that imaging procedures are appropriate for patients' clinical needs. The position includes responsibilities such as assessing and addressing patients' needs, troubleshooting equipment and scheduling issues, contributing to departmental operations and research, and providing training and support to trainees and staff, all while maintaining a commitment to excellence, communication, and professional development. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine obstetrical ultrasound examinations as prescribed by a physician.
  • Review and evaluate requisitions for ultrasound imaging procedures, ensuring appropriateness based on diagnosis and clinical signs.
  • Collaborate closely with radiologists, reviewing ultrasound examinations before and after with the Radiologist, MFM, and others as needed.
  • Select appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
  • Assess the physical and emotional status of patients and parents, developing plans to adjust to their specific needs.

Minimum Qualifications: Education:

  • Associate's degree, Diagnostic Medical Sonography

License/Certification:

  • Must be OBGYN registered or eligible for certification by the ARDMS.
  • Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARDMS certification and registration within one year of hire date.
  • BLS certification
  • Status: Part-Time

    Regular, Temporary, Per Diem

    Standard Hours per Week: 1

    Pay Range: $42.42-$67.875 Hourly
