Job description

Job Shift: Days

Job Type: Full Time

The Cardiovascular RN as part of an integrated lab (Cardiac/EP & IR) plans, delivers and evaluates nursing care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of the Director and/or designee.  Functions as a team leader and facilitator providing communications with other health team members. The nurse closely monitors the patient for complications, administers medications including moderate sedation, documents the procedure, and also may circulate or scrub into procedures. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires. Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action while working in a critical care environment. Will take call for emergent procedures with on-call arrival time requirement of 30min. Understands and follows hospital policy and procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Graduate of Registered Nurse Program. Periop 101 Program or comparable preferred

Experience:

  • At least one year of nursing in the critical care setting (ie. ICU, ED, Trauma).
  • Prefer three years critical care experience.
  • Prefer prior experience in procedural areas (ie. Cath/IR/EP/Neuro).

License

  • REGISTERED NURSE state of Florida

Certification

  • BLS/CPR (AMERICAN HEART ASSN)
  • ACLS within 3 months of hire
