Job description

QUALIFICATIONS:

Work Experience:

One year’s general office experience or standard high school/GED courses preferred

Office Equipment/Computer Skills:

  • Operate computer standard office equipment & software programs associated with Data Entry.

Other:

  • Possess strong skills in customer service, communication, and grammar.
  • Must be able to multitask, while having a strong attention to detail
  • Exhibits a positive and service-oriented approach to customer service
  • Must be able to work the overtime and Saturday shift as needed during turnaround times

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Registration Area
    • Greet customers professionally
    • Check-in and register nonmember/walk in customers for courses
    • Complete check-in procedures
    • Verify valid government issued documents
    • Gather demographic information
    • Capture pictures for badges
    • Review notes
    • Review business rules for each course scheduled for updates and/or changes to prerequisites
    • Search History and Transfer reciprocal courses from other councils
    • Capture signatures for indemnification, training, and SSV’s as needed
    • Perform background checks (SSV’s) for course prerequisites
    • Process payments
    • Register off – site courses on external websites / course players
    • Register trainees for courses and/or SSV’s as needed
    • Assist with classroom directions, policy & procedures
    • Print route cards
    • Process daily payment transaction reports for accounting
    • Verify all courses were transferred and grades entered before printing badge
    • Print badges
    • Answer questions and assist members with LINK system, registration, and course information daily
  • CBT Lab
    • Inspect the CBT Lab for readiness and equipment repairs
    • Operate Windows based Computer Based Training operating system
    • Process students and provide instruction on workstation operation.
    • Maintain Student paperwork and accurately record student grades for offsite locations
    • Monitor the computer lab to ensure security of training procedures
    • Watch trainee monitors to be sure if failed course, review is completed before exiting
    • Print badges and distribute upon completion of courses
    • Proctor lab – walk floor to be sure no cheating or use of cell phones occur throughout the day on a rotation with other co-workers 30minutes to 1hour of walking each time usually 3-4 times daily
    • Clean/disinfect workstations after each trainee
    • Provide reading assistance if business rules allow for courses
  • As necessary, answer incoming calls, assist callers, and route calls to the appropriate department
  • Maintain accuracy in all areas
  • Open or Close facility as needed for schedule changes
  • Float between registration and CBT department as needed for schedule changes
  • Occasional overtime during turnaround seasons and only when approved by management
  • Perform other duties assigned by Management
  • Safety conscientious always

Texas. The CSCCB delivers safety and site-specific training and job safety orientations to
contractors and employees of numerous refining and petrochemical, and chemical plants on the
Texas Gulf Coast.
