Custodian / Maintenance Trainee
Benedict's Place of Cherry Hill
Summary
Full time Diocesan Housing Service Corporation entry level custodian/maintenance trainee assigned to specific site. Must have flexibility of schedule to allow for after hour and weekend emergency calls.
Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain common areas and office space
  • Work with the members of the maintenance team to maintain the rental units and facilities.
  • Accept directions and respond positively to training as it relates to custodial work, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and other trades related activities.
  • Utilize web-based software, OneSite, to retrieve assignments and document their completion.
  • Work outdoors during inclement weather - snow removal, salting, etc.
  • Attend all training as required by DHSC and participate in cross training of jobs as required by supervisor or management.
  • Maintain a positive behavior and attitude consistent with membership in a faith-based organization
  • Maintain a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, external colleagues and management
Qualifications
  • Ability to operate all necessary hand tools to make repairs
  • Ability to kneel, crouch, climb, crawl, etc., to reach items for repairs
  • Ability to utilize mobile phone for web-based software
  • Must be able and willing to work outdoors in inclement weather
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and move up to 100 lbs
  • Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing, valid auto insurance and dependable personal vehicle
  • Must have the ability to work with Senior Citizens, low-income families, and disabled population
  • Must be willing to travel between sites as required
  • Must be willing to accept training related to maintenance operations, Fair Housing laws, REAC inspections, and other as requested
Education/Training/Experience
  • High School Education required.
  • Training or experience as custodian or trades-related
  • OSHA Safety training
Salary: $16 - $18 Hourly
