Salary Range $21.25 - $30.00 Hourly

The Imaging Specialist works to ensure the timely transfer and management of radiology images. Responsible for ensuring that radiology studies are properly prepared and presented to both WHA and outside radiology groups.

Job duties:

  • Proactively monitors the Mammography Scheduling report in order to ensure prior mammography studies are available to the radiologist when the exam is read.
  • Use the EMR to create and complete outside transfer orders that are complete and accurate.
  • Uses PACS to transfer images in a manner that is complete and accurately linked to the correct patient.
  • Partners with other radiology groups to resolve image transfer issues. Troubleshoot problems with image imports and export.
  • Responsible for mailing and receiving imaging studies and reports to and from outside facilities.
  • Use excellent customer service skills to answer and manage requests for studies made through the WHA image request phone line.
  • Uses PACS Cube to burn, label, and address DVDs in order to transfer imaging studies.
  • Partners with Imaging Navigators to troubleshoot and manage image availability issues.
  • Works with Mammography Supervisor to continually improve imaging workflows.
  • Reviews incoming imaging record requests. Identifies the studies being requested and ensures correct records are released to the requesting party. Ensures that the correct documentation is entered throughout the processing of the request.
  • Answers questions and communicates with WHA staff and outside facilities regarding the import and export of imaging studies.
  • Provides support to Imaging Navigators when needed.
  • Travels to various WHA sites to perform image related duties.
  • Completes various ongoing time sensitive projects as assigned.
  • Follows HIPAA regulations and maintains WHA confidentiality standards.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Experience working in a medical group setting preferred, preferably in Mammography or other imaging environment. Fluency in medical terminology is required.
  • Epic experience is preferred.
  • PACS or imaging software preferred.
  • Experience providing excellent customer service to internal customers.
  • Experience locating and managing prior mammography studies preferred.
