Position Highlights
  • Department: Mental Health Services Admin
  • Hours: 40.00 per week

Position Summary
The Middlesex Health Beit Paley Center for Mental Health Services is currently accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellowship position. This is a one year full time position. The Postdoctoral Psychologist will provide direct careincluding individual (including youth), couple, family and group therapeutic services to patients, including assessments, treatment plans, discharge planning, and psychological testing/evaluations.
Responsibilities include:
  • Participates in direct care to assess needs and coordinate services to appropriate population (children, adolescents, adults and families)
  • Provides initial mental health assessments resulting in measurement based care planning
  • Assesses using standardized screening tools, measures, etc
  • Perform psychological assessments, testing, scoring and evaluation
  • Provide diagnosis based on assessments, testing and evaluation
  • Develop comprehensive report for patients and providers with treatment recommendations based on diagnosis
  • Provide group psychoeducation/treatment related to specific diagnoses/presenting issues
  • Provide psychological/neuropsychological testing to patients referred and provide timely feedback and reports
  • Participates in directly supervising practicum and pre-doctoral trainees. This includes didactics, presentations, and group supervision.
  • Provide bariatric assessments for Surgical Alliance and/or pain assessments for multi speciality group
  • Maintains daily/weekly scheduled appointments in electronic records systems
  • Work in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members including external partners and agencies
  • Completes required documentation and paperwork including biopsychosocial assessments and treatment planning and implementation in a timely manner
  • Demonstrates cultural competency and commitment to patients including LGBTQ+ community
  • Maintain case load dependent on need
  • Participate in training to staff, mentees, and trainees

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D or Psy.D) from accredited program
  • Ability to diagnose using DSM 5
  • Must have excellent writing and communication skills, be highly organized
  • Must be able to work as a part of a team
  • Experience providing direct clinical care
  • Ability to perform psychological assessments/evaluations

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Neuropsychological or psychological testing experience
  • ADOS 2 training
  • Experience/knowledge of substance use disorders
  • Experience/competency in working with LGBTQ+
