 The department

You will be part of Welltec’s Global Operations function working with Well Intervention Services in North America.

The position

As a Field Engineer you will have the opportunity be involved in every part of our business in the field: From helping acquire essential data to planning long-term well development and operating tools. You will support with organizing, running, and reporting operations. Your work will centre around Welltec’s Intervention Services and Tools.


You will have strong opportunities to learn and develop in this position. Initially, you will undergo thorough training that will be hands-on and rewarding as you will learn about the energy industry and become familiar with operating our world-class technology.


You will be asked to learn a lot but in return you will be given responsibility and support to make a big impact early, develop your skillset and start becoming an important part of our business.


Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will vary depending on your current skill- and experience level. However, some of the tasks you can expect to be responsible for are:

·        Complying with Welltec Safety and Quality Policy standards

·        Execute electric wireline based well-intervention field operations including pre-job planning, job load out, rig up/down, equipment preparation, and service execution in the field

·        Collaborating with other more junior or senior field engineers

·        Completing relevant paperwork associated with a job on a timely basis

·        Undergo Welltec training

·        Undertaking technical, safety, and shop/office responsibilities as assigned by the Base Manager

·        Maintaining equipment and facilities in an orderly and workable condition

·        Troubleshoot equipment and perform maintenance as required

·        Communicate effectively with clients and field personnel

·        Uphold our high level of customer service at all times

 The candidate

You will be an interested entry-level Field Engineer with high potential. Most important is your strong motivation to develop, learn and deliver high quality service.


The ideal candidate has the following profile:

·        A relevant degree such as: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical engineering, Petroleum engineering or similar.

·        Strong interest and a willingness to work on- and offshore

·        Thrives with ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and on time in cooperation with others

·        Basic knowledge of the Oil and Gas industry is a plus

·        A solid compliance mindset and/or experience working in a compliance-driven work environment

·        Awareness of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE)

·        Capable of effectively managing equipment & tools and/or a high potential become a competent field engineer

·        Be a highly motivated individual who approaches challenges with a positive ‘can-do-attitude’ and is willing to work under pressure and in varying remote  and physically demanding conditions.

·        Leads by example in promoting and maintaining a safe workplace and holding others in the field accountable to this high level.

·        A competent troubleshooter with good root cause analysis skills

·        Good English language skills

·        Willingness to work irregular hours and travel extensively

·        Must be available to relocate

·        Valid driver’s license and clean record

·        Authorized to work in USA, without the need for current or future visa sponsorship
