Trainee Neurointensivist Jobs (NOW HIRING)

We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative clinician-researcher or clinician-educator to enhance our team of seven neurointensivists. Our Division of Neurocritical Care manages two Neurosciences ICUs, providing care for a diverse array of neurologically injured patients.

The NSICU at our main hospital features a cutting-edge 16-bed unit, specializing in complex neurovascular and skull base surgeries. An extensive renovation of our Upper East Side campus is currently in progress, set to conclude in 2028. This expansion will increase the NSICU capacity from 16 to 23 beds, emphasizing the integration of advanced technologies for patient and family-centered care, along with a modern conference room and private facilities for families.

Additionally, the NSICU at our West campus is a 14-bed unit that focuses on managing intracerebral hemorrhages (ICH), epilepsy, and movement disorders. Beyond ICU care, our neurocritical care team oversees the management and transfer of over 1,000 neurologic emergency cases annually across our health system. Our division is proud to offer a dually accredited neurocritical care fellowship program, with educational and research conferences seamlessly integrated across campuses. Our robust research initiatives include NIH and industry-sponsored multicenter clinical trials, investigator-initiated studies, and the Dangayach Neuroemergencies Management and Transfers (NEMAT) lab, all supported by the research infrastructure of the Department of Neurosurgery and the Institute of Critical Care Medicine (ICCM). Over the next decade, we aim to expand our neurocritical care services to additional hospitals within our system and are looking for a promising faculty member to advance their career with us.

• Engage in leadership roles for programs in intra-operative electrophysiological monitoring, transcranial Doppler, clinical research, and education.
• Participate in the Global Critical Care Program, which aims to enhance critical care delivery in several low-income countries, with opportunities for active faculty involvement.
• Receive dedicated mentorship for career and research development from senior faculty in the Departments of Neurosurgery, Neurology, and ICCM.

• Medical Degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid New York Medical License.
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neurology.
• Completion of a fellowship in Neurocritical Care.
• Preference for mid-career or senior candidates with over 5 years of attending experience, though those with less experience are encouraged to apply.
• Strong communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills.
• A collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary environment.
• A commitment to a team-oriented, performance-driven healthcare system.

The compensation for this position ranges from $300,000 to $375,000, excluding bonuses, incentive compensation, or benefits. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as experience, specialties, historical productivity, and community needs. The listed salary range pertains to full-time employment and does not encompass bonuses or benefits.
