Practice Overview:

* Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level 1 Trauma at our Gainesville campus and Primary Stroke Center at both our Braselton and Barrow campuses
* Significant learning opportunities through structured Neuroscience educational sessions, M&M, and GME.
* Growing program with opportunity to work with residents and fellows
Key Leadership Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain clinical protocols, order sets, and care pathways (SAH, LVO stroke, status epilepticus, TBI).
* Own unit-level performance metrics: mortality, ICU LOS, ventilator days, CAUTI/CLABSI rates, EVD infection rates, and unplanned returns to ICU.
* Improve throughput (ED ? ICU ? stepdown/home), capacity management, and escalation/de-escalation criteria.
* Collaborate with Stroke Program leadership on reperfusion readiness, post-tPA/post-thrombectomy management, and stroke core measures.
* Represent Neurocritical Care in hospital committees (ICU Steering, Quality, Sepsis/Code Blue, Pharmacy & Therapeutics, Ethics as applicable).
* Assist with recruitment and retention of physicians and APPs; participate in budget planning and capital requests
Working together with Physicians like you:
* MD or DO; completion of an ACGME accredited residency program in Neurology,
* Board certification or board eligibility in Neurocritical Care through an ABMS recognized pathway, including:
o Successful completion of an ACGME accredited Neurocritical Care fellowship with eligibility for the ABPN administered Neurocritical Care subspecialty certification examination, OR
o Current ABMS Neurocritical Care subspecialty certification (ABPN administered) through Neurology (ABPN), OR
* For legacy candidates only (through 2026): prior certification via the practice/temporary pathway accepted by the applicable ABMS member board.
* UCNS certification alone is not required; however, prior UCNS accredited fellowship training or UCNS certification may be considered in the context of overall eligibility and experience.
* Minimum 3 years of post-fellowship clinical experience in a dedicated Neurocritical Care or Neuro ICU setting.
* Unrestricted Georgia medical license (or ability to obtain) and eligibility for hospital privileges.
* Demonstrated expertise in neuro specific critical care, including advanced ventilator management, multimodality neuromonitoring, continuous EEG, invasive monitoring, and post thrombectomy/SAH care.
* Prior leadership experience (e.g., unit lead, service chief, associate or assistant medical director) strongly preferred.
* Working knowledge of Comprehensive Stroke Center standards, ICU quality metrics, accreditation readiness, and performance improvement initiatives.
* As Neurocritical Care is now an ABMS-recognized subspecialty, candidates must be eligible for or already hold ABMS Neurocritical Care subspecialty certification; fellowship-based eligibility will be required for candidates entering practice after 2026.
