Job description

The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a dynamic clinician-researcher or clinician-educator to join its team of neurointensivists. This role offers a transformational opportunity for a faculty member to contribute to two Neurosciences ICUs, focusing on complex neurovascular and skull base surgeries, ICH, epilepsy, and movement disorders. The successful candidate will be part of a robust research program and a dually accredited neurocritical care fellowship program, with ample opportunities for career growth and leadership.

Practice Info

  • Oversees two Neurosciences ICUs: a 16-bed unit at The Mount Sinai Hospital and a 14-bed unit at Mount Sinai West.
  • The Mount Sinai Hospital NSICU focuses on complex neurovascular and skull base surgeries.
  • The Mount Sinai West NSICU focuses on the management of ICH, epilepsy, and movement disorders.
  • Manages and transfers over 1000 neurologic emergency cases per year across the health system.
  • Boasts a dually accredited neurocritical care fellowship program.
  • Robust research program spanning NIH and industry sponsored multicenter clinical trials, and investigator-initiated studies.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in leadership opportunities for programs in intra-operative electrophysiological monitoring, transcranial doppler, clinical research, and education.
  • Actively involve in the Global Critical Care Program, working in low-income countries to improve critical care delivery.
  • Participate in and contribute to the productive clinical research efforts supported by a team of over 25 full-time personnel.

Compensation

  • Compensation range from $300K to $375K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Requirements

  • Medical Degree from an Accredited University
  • New York Medical License
  • BE or BC in Neurology
  • Fellowship training in Neurocritical Care
  • Preference will be given to mid-career or senior individuals with more than 5 years of attending experience, but physicians with less experience are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary setting
  • A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance-driven Health System
