Our team in Space & Defense is looking for a Technical Instructor to join them. You will report to the Training Systems Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Blacksburg, Virginia.
To be considered for Technical Instructor, you will need:
  • Bachelors degree with 3 years of manufacturing experience in a technical related capacity or an associate's degree with 5 years of manufacturing experience in a technical related capacity
  • Previous training, coaching, or mentoring experience.
  • Experience with and ability to explain technical processes such as soldering, crimping, safety wire, product inspection etc.
  • Understanding of an AS9100 Quality Management System.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office tools.
  • Skilled in maintaining professionalism when interacting with people from diverse backgrounds

As a Technical Instructor, you will be:
Responsible for developing and delivering training strategies to create and sustain a high-performing organization. This role ensures that Moog employees possess the technical knowledge and skills necessary to perform their jobs effectively. Using adult learning principles, the instructor provides training in an effective manner, converting technical training needs into relevant training at all levels of the Moog organization.
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate advanced technical process expertise and a comprehensive understanding of an AS9100 Quality Management System.
  • Course and Curriculum Development: Design and development course materials and job aids for students and course instructors in accordance with program requirements, contract specifications, and adult learning principles for all levels of the organization.
  • Implementation of Training Techniques: Research and assist in the implementation of new training techniques and technologies to ensure high retention rates of learned content.
  • Learning and Development Needs: Implement and utilize methodologies to assess learning and development requirements, ensuring these needs are met through the creation, development, and deployment of associated training. Determine the appropriate delivery vehicle for the content (e.g. instructor-led, eLearning, blended learning, etc.)
  • Instructor Development: Develop, coach, and mentor subject matter experts who deliver special process training as an additional resource to the Training Systems Group.
  • Assessment Tools: Develop and maintain assessment tools to support course content while rigorously assessing participant/trainee knowledge and skills. Assess the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements to maintain compliance with Quality Management System requirements.

Additional Information: The Technical Instructor is expected to measure training effectiveness and pursue continuous improvement efforts to ensure high-quality training programs. This role is crucial in maintaining a high-performing organization by ensuring that all employees are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.

Salary Range Transparency:
Blacksburg, VA $70,000.00-$90,000.00 Annually
Salary Range Disclaimer
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
