Job description

SSU is currently recruiting for a Production Specialist (HVAC Install) to join our team and work in our corporate office in Fayetteville, N.C.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform HVAC installations, including the wiring and connections of components, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with relevant electrical codes, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC issues promptly to minimize downtime and enhance productivity.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, electrical codes, and company policies, ensuring that electrical work is performed in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Stay updated with current standards and codes, implementing best practices.
  • Conduct routine inspections, testing, and diagnostics of HVAC systems and equipment to identify potential issues or malfunctions.
  • Utilize specialized tools and equipment to measure, record, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to identify HVAC requirements for modular facility projects and ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems during construction.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior technicians, apprentices, or maintenance personnel, promoting knowledge transfer and a culture of safety within the manufacturing facility.
  • Monitor HVAC component and equipment inventory levels, ensuring an adequate supply of materials to support ongoing manufacturing operations.
  • Assist with preparing purchase requisitions when necessary.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance HVAC system performance, energy efficiency, and costeffectiveness.
  • Make recommendations for process improvements and participate in problemsolving initiatives.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials and supplies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols.
  • Assist the Production Team with other duties when necessary.
  • Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized HVAC apprenticeship program is preferred.
  • Journeyman or relevant HVAC license/certification is desirable.
  • Experience working as an HVAC Installer, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • Knowledge of HVAC principles, codes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with HVAC installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs in commercial or industrial settings.
  • Ability to use a range of tools, equipment, and testing devices.
  • Solid understanding of safety protocols and the ability to apply them effectively in the workplace.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and convey technical information clearly.
