Job description

Are you an experienced Human Resources professional who enjoys balancing payroll, employee support, and HR administration? We are seeking a Bilingual Human Resources Generalist to join our growing team in Pleasant Hill, California. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our employees throughout their employment lifecycle—from onboarding and payroll to training, benefits administration, and HR compliance. If you are highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about providing exceptional employee service, we'd love to hear from you.


What You'll Do

Payroll Administration

  • Process accurate and timely biweekly payroll.
  • Review and reconcile employee time records.
  • Maintain payroll records, including employee changes, deductions, direct deposits, and tax information.
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Prepare payroll reports and respond to employee payroll inquiries.

Employee Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation.
  • Prepare and process employment documentation.
  • Complete I-9 verification, background checks, and employment verification.
  • Maintain accurate onboarding records.
  • Assist with employee separations and offboarding processes.

Training & Development

  • Coordinate employee training programs.
  • Track required certifications and compliance training.
  • Maintain training records.
  • Assist in developing and organizing training materials.

Human Resources Administration

  • Maintain confidential personnel files and HR records.
  • Assist with benefits administration and employee questions.
  • Coordinate interview scheduling and candidate communications.
  • Support HR compliance initiatives and policy administration.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and HR documentation.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR Manager and assist with special projects.


Qualifications

Required

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (spoken, written, and read).
  • Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources and/or payroll experience.
  • Experience processing payroll.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll software.
  • Knowledge of California employment laws and payroll regulations.
  • Experience with employee onboarding, benefits administration, and HR compliance.
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent) is a plus.
