About the Job
 

Seeking a laboratory scientist for work focused on testing novel treatments for NF1 associated nerve sheath and brain tumors. This will include evaluation of new drugs, drug combinations, antibody-drug conjugates, nutraceuticals and adoptive cell therapies. The Candidate must have experience with basic laboratory methods, preferably mouse work and a willingness to devote 75% or more time on this aspect of the job.  Experience with working with cell culture and/or tissues also a plus.  The candidate will work closely with other lab staff including technicians, trainees, and RAR staff.

Responsible for conducting experiments in mice
 Follow and modify as necessary protocols for treatment of tumor bearing mice
 Create tumor bearing mice, treat and assess effects including PK and PD studies
 Mouse husbandry including genotyping mice

 Compile, summarize and analyze data for review and presentation
 Develop proficiency in interpreting and presenting results from animal studies including statistical analyses
Write summary reports of results and discuss results and subsequent investigations with lab PI and research team
 Participate in publication and presentation of results either as author or co-author.

 Independent review of project relevant scientific literature
Discuss possible experimental approaches with lab PI and research team
 Assist with writing technical reports.
 

Qualifications
 

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials. 

Required Qualifications:


B.S. or B.A. in a biological science or a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal at least four years.
Demonstrated experience in biochemical laboratory methods including cell culture/tissue sample handling, and mouse work. Experience working independently, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems that may arise with experiments is highly preferred.
Experience preparing written data report summaries and oral reports to the lab group.
Demonstrated experience maintaining accurate documentation in laboratory journal and reporting data and procedures obtained from projects.
Ability to work in a collaborative, team science environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience handling laboratory mice and tumor biology experience
Molecular biology including RNA/DNA isolation, PCR and rtPCR.
