Summary
This skilled position is responsible for the safe and efficient diagnosis, adjustment, and repair of plant equipment, including stone crushers, screens, conveyors, and related machinery. The role also involves operating various types of heavy equipment such as off-road haul trucks, water trucks, quarry trucks, and stock trucks. Team members will receive cross-training in multiple areas of the aggregate production facility, with opportunities for growth and advancement.

Responsibilities
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy plant components using hoists and hand tools
  • Repair or replace damaged and worn parts
  • Diagnose mechanical issues using inspection methods and diagnostic tools, including computerized test equipment
  • Test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications
  • Perform routine maintenance, including lubrication, oil and filter changes, and equipment cleaning
  • Examine parts for wear using micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools
  • Read and interpret operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Operate heavy equipment such as haul trucks, water trucks, crawler tractors, cranes, shovels, graders, and related machinery
  • Load, move, and transport materials including dirt, rock, and equipment
  • Follow all OSHA/MSHA safety regulations and wear required PPE in designated areas
  • Ensure compliance with company standards for equipment operation, material handling, and product movement
  • Maintain strict adherence to Dolomite policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual

Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Mechanically inclined, previous mining experience preferred

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this role, employees may be required to operate 40-, 50-, or 60-ton trucks, articulated stock trucks, or water trucks for extended periods. The position frequently requires crawling, kneeling, bending, climbing vertical ladders, and reaching above shoulder height. Employees must occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.
