Environmental Science Expert (AI Training) What if your years of graduate-level research in climate modeling, ecology, or sustainability could directly shape how AI reasons about the planet's most pressing challenges? We're looking for Environmental Science experts to help build and train cuttingโ€edge AI models โ€” designing complex, realโ€world problems that push AI to think at the level of a domain scientist. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role.

No AI background needed โ€” just deep environmental science expertise and a passion for rigorous, meaningful work. Organization: Alignerr Type: Hourly Contract Location: Remote Commitment: 10โ€“40 hours/week What You'll Do Develop, solve, and review advanced environmental science problems with realโ€world relevance and scientific depth Apply your expertise in climate modeling, ecology, sustainability science, or related disciplines to design complex, multiโ€step problem statements Evaluate AI-generated responses for scientific accuracy, rigor, and reasoning quality Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to improve how AI models handle environmental science topics Ensure clarity, depth, and scientific integrity across all deliverables Work independently on taskโ€based assignments at your own pace Who You Are Master's or PhD in Environmental Science, Climate Science, Ecology, Earth Systems, or a closely related field Strong expertise in at least one of: climate modeling, ecology, sustainability science, environmental data analysis, or related areas Comfortable coding in Python or R for research, modeling, or data analysis Exceptionally clear written communicator โ€” you can explain complex science precisely and accessibly Detailโ€oriented and rigorous โ€” you hold yourself to publicationโ€quality standards Fluent in English Nice to Have Prior experience with data annotation, data quality review, or AI evaluation workflows Background in interdisciplinary environmental research spanning multiple domains Familiarity with AI tools or large language model capabilities as an end user Experience communicating science to nonโ€specialist audiences Why Join Us Work on cuttingโ€edge AI projects alongside leading AI research labs Fully remote and flexible โ€” work when and where it suits you Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work Make a direct, tangible impact on how AI understands and reasons about environmental science Contribute to AI development at a moment when getting climate and ecology reasoning right genuinely matters Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch #J-18808-Ljbffr
