Development of proven and new designs for High voltage DCDC converters, using modelling, simulation, and hardware testing. Determines design approaches and parameters. Analysis’s equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of DC/DC high voltage power supplies utilizing various topologies, under guidance of senior engineers.
  • Electrical design of DC/DC switch mode power supplies with output voltage above 2KVDC and up to 500W.
  • Assist in taking products from concept through prototype and into production by helping ensure designs meet performance, schedule, cost, and reliability targets.
  • Electrical design of new and modified products, ensure products designs are cost effective and design for manufacturing.
  • Hands on design validation and Verification experience including impedance and loop phase/gain measurements, precision noise measurement, and load transient response.
  • Complies with required regulatory standards.
  • Liaising with cross-functional team (PCB layout, Mechanical engineering, Manufacturing and Quality engineering) to facilitate the design process.
  • Selection of raw materials, components and suppliers based on product performance specifications, reliability and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in internal design reviews by preparing supporting material, documenting feedback, and tracking follow-ups.
  • Perform circuit simulations, DFMEA, component stress analysis, and design verification testing; collect data and contribute to technical reports.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation required for product release and support engineering change activities (ECR/ECO processing via SAP, as applicable to the role).
  • Responsible for root causes analysis on products, technical problems and documentation.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, Master's degree preferred in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of related experience.
  • Experience working in High voltage environment (above 2KVDC)
  • Experience working with magnetics and practical design of custom transformers and inductors, including planar magnetics for High Voltage DC/DC converters.
  • Knowledge of power conversion principles for High Voltage output, topologies and soft switching techniques.
  • Experience of designing High Voltage PCB layouts.
