Job description

Industrial, Electrical Controls Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Electrical Controls Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical control systems in an industrial setting. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in electrical systems, controls, and automation, coupled with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Installation and Maintenance: Install, repair, and maintain electrical control systems, including control panels, PLCs, instrumentation, and associated equipment.
  2. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and control system issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  3. Programming and Configuration: Program and configure Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems to optimize industrial processes. (Not required)
  4. Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with relevant safety standards, codes, and regulations, promoting a safe working environment.
  5. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, maintenance personnel, and production staff, to integrate and optimize electrical control systems.
  6. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of equipment configurations, wiring diagrams, and maintenance procedures.
  7. Preventive Maintenance: Implement preventive maintenance programs for electrical and control systems to maximize equipment reliability and longevity.
  8. Training: Provide training and support to production personnel on the proper use and maintenance of electrical control systems.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related field. Bachelor's degree is a plus. Or equivalency years of experience.
  • Experience: Experience in industrial electrical control systems, panels, automation. digital multipliers, and with the ability to read schematics. Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Comprehension of electrical circuitry and schematic diagrams.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in PLC programming, HMI configuration, motor control systems, and electrical troubleshooting is desirable, not required.
  • AutoCAD experience preferred, not required
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in electrical and control systems are adventageous.
  • Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Safety Conscious: Prioritize safety in all aspects of work and adhere to safety guidelines and procedures. Safely and effectively lift, carry, and move objects of varying weights. Bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, climbing, balancing, standing, and walking, for extended periods and maintain the necessary physical dexterity and coordination. Work in various environmental conditions, which may include exposure to varying temperatures, weather, and noise levels.
