GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Instruct courses in Computer Information Systems. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: participating in college committees, promoting and supporting the department's mission and goals, leading extra-curricular activities, participating in professional development activities, working across departments to develop student communication and problem-solving skills, maintaining office hours. Faculty are expected to accept courses as assigned which could include face-to-face and non-traditional venues, such as evening, weekend, dual credit, blended, and/or online courses. This position reports to the Program Director of Computer Information Systems. Employee may not exceed 19.5 hours per week.
NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical effort-restricted: Sustained posture or intense attentiveness for prolonged periods. Light lifting (less than 30 lbs.), some walking, pushing, pulling on a regular basis. Work environment-Minimal hazard/exposure: Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.
BENEFITS:
Part-Time Retirement. Participation in Medicare Part A, but not Social Security(FICA).
QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Networking, Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, Web Design/Graphic Design, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Minimum of two years of industry work experience in Network Administration, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Information Assurance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Networking, Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, Web Design/Graphic Design, or a related field from an accredited college or university; Industry certifications such as Network+, Security+, or CCNA;
Experience: Teaching experience to include distance education and higher education; Programming experience in C++ and Python.
