Job description

Responsibilities

Job Summary

  • Provides for a sterile environment.
  • Prepares for procedure.
  • Assists the physician to promote optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provides and maintains a safe environment for the patient and staff.
  • Responsible for personal continuing education and professional practice.

Qualifications

Education

  • Completion of accredited Surgical Technologist program, achieved national certification in surgical technology preferred, or five (5) consecutive years training/experience as a surgical tech.  Cath lab: RCIS certification preferred.

Experience

  • Must have completed accredited Surgical Technology program, or must have five (5) consecutive years training/experience as a surgical tech, or LPN with one (1) year surgical tech preferred.  National Certification is highly preferred. 

Licensure/Certification/Registration/Professional Designation ETC

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for duration of employment.  If Certified Surgical Technologist must have current certification.  Current Oklahoma LPN license required, if applicable.  Cath lab: ALS training must be achieved within 6 months of hire and maintained throughout duration of employment.
