Compensation and Benefits:
  • Compensation: Starting wage $21.00 - $21.84/hr, adjusted based on experience
  • Benefits: Seasonal position, eligible for a season pass for employee/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available

Job Summary:
Great opportunity to practice and hone your mechanical skills in a dynamic environment. Working as part of our vehicle maintenance team, the apprentice will work alongside the experienced mechanics aiding in the repair and service of snowmobiles, ATV's & SXS's, small equipment (chainsaws, weedwhackers, snowblowers, generators, etc.), vehicles, snow groomers, and other various types of equipment. Along with working under the supervision of the department manager, the apprentice will also get to experience the leadership aspect of Vehicle Maintenance and meet frequently to monitor progress. This position will help develop and expand the trainee's mechanical knowledge, ability, and skills.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
  • Assist in maintaining company equipment
  • Assist in performing repairs, preventative maintenance, and safety inspections
  • Effectively manage use of time
  • Clean and organize shop/vehicle maintenance work areas
  • Communicate thoroughly and clearly with all VM staff
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner
  • Learn environmental aspects and impacts of the job and follow the environmental guidelines as established in the company.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
  • Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times. Follow the Resort Etiquette Guidelines while interacting with the guests and respond to all guests in a courteous, efficient manner.

Basic Qualifications:
  • High school senior or above
  • Valid driver's license
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical components and troubleshooting
  • Interest in pursuing a career in auto/diesel mechanics and the ski industry
  • 1 or more years of technical experience is preferred (but not required)

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50lbs
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be flexible and able to adjust to the requirements of the resort as needed
  • Ability to work cooperatively with a variety of other company personnel and outside firms
