Job description

Acclaim Physician Group, Inc. Job Summary

The Psychiatric Emergency Center (PEC) Physician is responsible for delivering direct clinical care to patients presenting with acute psychiatric emergencies. This position provides rapid psychiatric assessment, stabilization, and disposition planning for patients in a high‑acuity, fast‑paced environment. The PEC Psychiatrist works 12‑hour shifts and collaborates closely with other physicians, residents, advanced practice providers, nursing, social work, learners, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, efficient, and evidence‑based care. This role supports patient flow, crisis intervention, and timely disposition, including admission, discharge, or referral to appropriate levels of care. The position also supports quality, safety, and operational excellence within the Psychiatric Emergency Center and collaborates with departmental leadership to optimize clinical outcomes and throughput.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients presenting to the psychiatric emergency center.
  • Develop and implement stabilization and treatment plans using appropriate interventions in a high‑acuity environment.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Supervise and/or mentor psychiatric staff such as advanced practice providers, residents, and trainees.
  • Collaborate with other attending providers, nursing leadership, social work, and other allied health professionals to support cohesive care delivery and efficient patient flow.
  • Review medical charts to assess, diagnose, treat, and educate patients and families.
  • Ensure care delivery aligns with JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group guidelines.
  • Provide evidence‑based, compassionate care to improve outcomes and patient satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate patient‑centered and value‑driven behavior.
  • Support academic, educational, and research initiatives.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committees.
  • Build positive relationships with staff, partners, patients, and the community to enhance the JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group experience, fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment.
  • Serve as a community resource.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Current M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited school of medicine.
  • Residency and/or fellowship trained in psychiatry.
