Summary
Title: Digital Marketing Specialist ID: 1151 Department: Marketing and Communications Job Status: Temporary Part-Time Location: Indianapolis, IN
Description
POSITION PURPOSE
The purpose of the Digital Marketing Specialist is to support Visit Indy's digital marketing efforts by managing the organization's day-to-day social media presence. This role executes content across multiple social platforms, engages with online audiences, monitors brand sentiment, and supports content creation initiatives that inspire travel to Indianapolis while maintaining Visit Indy's brand voice. All Visit Indy team members reflect the organization's "3 Ps" culture - productive, positive and progressive.
 
Temporary: Approximately 16 weeks
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role, an individual must be able to perform in a satisfactory manner the functions listed below. We will make reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Maintain Visit Indy brand voice across all platforms.
  • Schedule and publish content across Visit Indy social media channels.
  • Manage Film Indy social media channels.
  • Monitor comments, messages, notifications, and community conversations.
  • Participate in content planning meetings and execute content calendars.
  • Write social copy and create visual assets in Canva, Capcut, etc.
  • Manage user-generated content through CrowdRiff.
  • Capture photo and video content at community events.
  • Monitor brand sentiment using Sprout Social Listening.
  • Track and report monthly social media performance metrics.
  • Support Greater Indy Trailways social media channels.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years experience in related field preferred.
  • Experience managing brand voice with following of more than 10K preferred.

  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of Sprout Social, Capcut, and Capcut preferred.
  • Ability to make recommendations to effectively solve problems, using judgment consistent with standards, practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to focus on details, handle multiple tasks, and remain highly organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interact with a variety of customers, employees, vendors, partners, and the general public, both on a one-on-one basis and in groups; must be a team-player.
  • Ability to write reports, correspondence, policies and procedures, and other business-related communications.
  • Ability to think critically/logically to troubleshoot and make recommendations for problems as identified.
  • Proficient computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Internet browsers, and e-mail systems.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Ability to be adaptable, flexible, and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work non-routine hours such as late night, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
