Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a Traffic Engineer to join our growing team. Leveraging Parsons' extensive expertise and your engineering knowledge, this role offers clear opportunities for professional growth and advancement. What You'll Be Doing:

  • Assists in a variety of traffic engineering work including traffic impact analyses, traffic forecasting studies, roundabout feasibility studies, parking studies, signal timing studies, access management studies, intersection safety analyses, operational studies, and corridor studies.
  • Analyze crash data and develop safety improvement recommendations under supervision.
  • Design traffic control plans, signal timing, signing, markings, quantity take-offs and estimates under supervision.
  • Apply fundamental engineering principles to produce high-quality traffic engineering deliverables that meet client expectations.
  • Provide engineering support on various projects and tasks as needed.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in traffic engineering or transportation planning.
  • Basic knowledge and skill with traffic engineering and CAD software, such as Synchro, Sidra, HCS, or MicroStation. Proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to research and learn innovative solutions and best practices in industry.


What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Internship, co-op, or work experience in traffic or transportation engineering.
  • Familiarity with Highway Capacity Manual (HCM) and Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
