As a growing, team-oriented company, we’re looking for a Tanker Driver to join our crew.

Position Summary

The Tanker Driver supports concrete grinding operations by operating and maintaining a tanker truck, managing slurry removal, and assisting with general jobsite labor as needed. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, travel-heavy construction environment.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions

(General duties; not all inclusive)


Operational Support

  • Safely operate a semi with tanker trailer in support of grinding operations, including following grinder equipment during active work.
    • Including driving in and out of traffic closures on highways/interstates.
  • Transport and properly dispose of slurry at designated pits or disposal locations.
  • Perform tanker washouts, including climbing onto the tanker as required.
  • Maintain accurate E-Logs and comply with DOT regulations at all times.

Jobsite Assistance

  • Frequently get in and out of the truck to connect, move, and manage hoses for the grinder.
  • Assist with traffic control tasks, including moving traffic barrels when required.
  • Support other crew members with general labor duties to keep the job site running efficiently, including assisting on yard days.

Equipment & Safety

  • Conduct routine inspections and assist with basic mechanical troubleshooting and minor repairs.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with crew members, supervisors, and equipment operators.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS


Required

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Tanker endorsement
  • Ability to maintain DOT compliance, including E-Logs
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work long hours as project demands require
  • Strong safety awareness and sound decision-making skills

Preferred

  • Mechanical aptitude and experience troubleshooting or repairing construction equipment
  • Prior experience working in highway, heavy civil, or construction environments

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical expectations of this role include:

  • Frequent standing and walking on concrete and uneven surfaces for extended periods
  • Use of hands/arms to operate machinery and tools.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more as needed for equipment handling.
  • Ability to climb, crawl, or work on/around machinery as essential to inspections and repairs.
  • Visual abilities including distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Ability to remain with equipment for extended periods and work long shifts.

All physical requirements are directly related to essential job tasks performed in active construction environments.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Outdoor work in all weather conditions, temperature extremes, and varying jobsite environments.
  • Noise levels requiring proper PPE.
  • Extensive travel—often weeks to months at a time.
  • Ability to work during the day, night, or rotating shifts depending on project needs.
  • Primary shop location: Big Lake, MN; additional shop location: Huxley, IA
