Job Summary
As a part of the Sendik's team, the Wine & Spirits Associate will be responsible for modeling and promoting Sendik's culture by consistently providing "best in class" service to our guests. The Wine & Spirits Associate is responsible for rotating, stocking and facing the Wine & Spirits Department; ensuring each product is of high quality and priced accurately. The Wine & Spirits Associate will also assist the department with miscellaneous tasks including, but not limited to, cleaning, interacting with vendors and participating in passive and active demonstrations as needed.

Work Experience
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Serve customers in the Wine & Spirits Department while modeling Sendik's culture and providing "best in class" customer service, which includes, greeting, engaging, delighting and thanking every guest for their business
  • Assist customers in selecting products, answering questions and offering suggestions as needed
  • Assist customers in discovering Sendik's extensive wine & spirits offerings through active sampling and educational programs
  • Stock, rotate and face the Wine & Spirits Department aisles
  • Maintain and work back stock items and coolers
  • Participate in active and passive Wine & Spirits demonstrations
  • Interacting with vendors as needed
  • Create innovative display cases based on the sales for the week (directed by manager)
  • Utilize u-boats, flat carts and other equipment to properly transport product
  • Assist with unloading deliveries and gathering items to be stocked
  • Assist with the training and mentoring of new associates in the Wine & Spirits Department
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety/sanitation regulations and procedures
  • Assist with all other Wine & Spirits Department duties as needed

Qualifications:
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age due to required operation of Wine & Spirits equipment
  • Eagerness to interact with customers
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent time management, prioritization and organization skills
  • Ability to work at a fast paced and efficient manner
  • Strong sense of team - ability to anticipate the needs of the team
  • Ability to take initiative and make decisions independently regarding department needs and priorities, under general supervision
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, push/pull for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
