For our office in Houston, we are looking for an Operator to coordinate and monitor operations process from trade inception to completion.
Job Accountabilities
  • Coordinate crude, gasoline, distillate, jet, diesel, fuel oil, and/or biodiesel loading/discharge of sea-going vessels, barges, and/or trucks with counterparties, inspectors, agents and terminals
  • Schedule refined product movements across Colonial, Magellan, Explorer, and/or Plantation pipelines
  • Oversee storage facility operations across multiple lease locations, ensuring accurate inventory tracking, forecasting and product reconciliation
  • Check purchase/sale contracts and amendments
  • Follow up on compliance requirements
  • Follow up on min/max loadable quantities within restrictions (draft, contract)
  • Clear and detailed instructions, always consistent with contracts and LCs
  • Receive and understand all information on the Financing side of the business (issuing bank, advising bank, L/Cs, open account etc.)
  • Serve as primary operations coordinator with traders, trade finance, contracts, Financial operators, legal and accounting
  • Nominations/Instructions to vessel shipbrokers, counterparties, inspectors etc
  • Responsibility for documents (LOIs, B/Ls, CoQ's etc)
  • Check of all invoices received ensuring correct. Process according to internal policies
  • Main point of contact for any troubleshooting

Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's or higher degree
  • 3+ years of demonstrated Product Operations gained in the oil industry
  • Fluent in English and working knowledge of Spanish
  • Clear understanding of oil operational processes and documentation including key areas of Risk and Risk mitigation
  • Thorough knowledge of the global oil trade business
  • Clear and concise communicator
  • Be proficient in using computer applications and software
  • Be able to network and develop key relationships
  • Be observant and resourceful
  • Be methodical, timely and detail orientated
