Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

ย 

Reporting to the Director of Trading, East Coast Trading Manager โ€“ Natural Gas is responsible for managing and optimizing a growing portfolio of East Coast physical transportation and storage assets along with basis positions.ย  This role will develop and execute trading strategies to maximize portfolio value.

JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES

ย 

  • Execute daily and monthly physical gas trades (fixed, index, and basis)
  • Utilize financial instruments to manage risk
  • Actively manage and optimize pipeline transportation, storage utilization, and basis exposure across contracted assets
  • Identify and capture opportunities from transport spreads, storage optionality, capacity release, and regional price dislocations
  • Evaluate regional supply, demand, infrastructure constraints, and market conditions to develop and execute profitable trading strategies
  • Monitor weather trends, storage balances, pipeline conditions, and operational flows to anticipate market movements and positioning opportunities
  • Structure and negotiate physical supply agreements, index-based transactions, and term deals with counterparties
  • Maintain compliance with risk management policies and ensure accurate daily position and P&L reporting
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with pipelines, producers, marketers, utilities, and other trading counterparties
  • Coordinate with risk, credit, settlements and operations team
  • Other projects and duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

ย 

  • 3+ years of natural gas trading experience, preferably focused on East Coast markets
  • Working knowledge of East Coast pipeline systems, storage facilities, and regional market hubs
  • Understanding of pipeline tariffs, imbalance management, capacity release mechanisms, and penalty mitigation strategies
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment.ย 
  • Experience with ETRM systems and trade capture workflows
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across trading, operations, accounting, and risk functions
  • Strong Excel Skills.
