Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Operations Manager in York, PA. The Operations Manager leads daily branch operations, overseeing multiple field crews, equipment, and project execution for traffic safety and roadway infrastructure projects. This developmental leadership role focuses on driving profitability and safety while building strong relationships with clients and municipalities. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong financial acumen and experience in heavy civil or highway construction, prepared for a path toward full branch management.

Job Type: Permanent

Annual Salary: $75,000 to $90,000 Annually BOE

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the daily operations of multiple field crews across various active roadway and infrastructure projects.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, equipment allocation, and production to meet customer expectations and project timelines.
  • Maintain accountability for branch profitability through daily P&L oversight, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Develop monthly labor, equipment, and revenue forecasts in alignment with branch goals.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to field personnel while assisting with hiring and performance management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, municipalities, DOT representatives, and contractors.
  • Coordinate project scheduling, permitting, labor allocation, and operational resources.
  • Partner with estimating and accounting teams to ensure accurate forecasting, production reporting, and revenue recognition.
  • Oversee inventory, equipment utilization, materials, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Ensure strict compliance with DOT regulations, company safety standards, and industry requirements.
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory to support field projects and customer needs.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of supervisory or operations management experience in construction or a related trade.
  • Proven experience managing multiple crews, projects, or job sites simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience managing operational P&Ls, budgets, revenue forecasting, and labor planning.
  • Strong leadership background involving hiring, coaching, and employee performance management.
  • Industry experience in Traffic Control, Highway Construction, Heavy Civil, or Utility Construction.
  • Strong client-facing experience with the ability to build long-term relationships with public and private stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of state DOT traffic control standards and specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Viewpoint ERP software is preferred.
  • Understanding of financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands to operate computers and mobile devices.
  • Ability to travel to various field job sites and navigate uneven terrain.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noises, and construction site environments.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, or moving of materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to climb stairs or ladders occasionally during site visits.

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000 annually, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
