Job description

Together we fight for everyone's opportunity for a better financial future.

We will do this together - with customers, partners and colleagues. We will fight for others, not against: We will stand up for and champion everyone's access to opportunities. The status quo is not good enough ... we believe every individual and every community deserves access to financial opportunities. We are determined to support both individuals and communities in reaching a better financial future. We know that reaching this future depends on our actions today.

Like our Purpose Statement, Voya believes in being bold and committed to action. We believe that our employees own our culture and have a responsibility to foster an environment where we all feel comfortable bringing our whole selves to work. Purposefully bringing our differences together to positively influence our culture, serve our clients and enrich our communities is essential to our vision.

At Voya Financial, we believe financial success is achieved through collaboration, integrity, and smart execution. We're looking for an experienced Trade Desk Manager who thrives at the intersection of leadership, precision, and innovation-and who is excited to lead a high-impact trading team supporting both brokerage and advisory clients.

This is a role for a confident leader who enjoys the fast pace of the markets, values strong controls and ethical standards, and knows how to inspire teams while driving operational excellence.

Profile Summary

As Trade Desk Manager, you'll be the heartbeat of our internal trading operation-guiding execution across equities, fixed income, ETFs, options, and mutual funds while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and best execution. You'll partner closely with internal stakeholders, custodial partners, and leadership to keep our trading operations running smoothly and continuously improving.

Work where you do your best work: This role offers a 100% remote option or the ability to work in one of our major office locations with a flexible hybrid schedule.

The Contributions You Will Make
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the trading desk, overseeing trade execution and monitoring for retail and advisory accounts.
  • Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements (FINRA, SEC, SROs) and Voya's Written Supervisory Procedures.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex trading issues, delivering confident, timely resolutions.
  • Oversee daily reconciliation, accounting, and documentation processes with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Partner with custodians, transfer agents, and internal teams (Principal Review, Brokerage Operations, New Accounts, Money Desk) to execute large-dollar and high-volume trades.
  • Continuously refine desk workflows, procedures, and controls to improve efficiency, risk management, and scalability.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Traders and Senior Traders, fostering a high-performance, growth-oriented team culture.
  • Analyze trading activity and provide insights to leadership on trends, risks, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert for trading platforms such as Pershing NetX360 and Orion Eclipse, ensuring team proficiency.
  • Conduct best-execution reviews and clearly communicate outcomes and insights to senior leaders.
Minimum Knowledge and Experience
  • Active FINRA Series 7, Series 24, and Series 66 licenses.
  • 5+ years of experience in trade execution within brokerage and/or fee-based advisory accounts.
  • At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a trading environment.
  • Deep knowledge of trading platforms, advisory workflows, and operational controls.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage escalations, and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • A calm, confident approach in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Knowledge and Experience
  • FINRA Series 4 and/or Series 53 licenses.
  • Experience designing and implementing trading desk policies and procedures.
  • Background in advisory platforms and model-based trading.
  • Demonstrated success building, mentoring, and retaining high-performing trading teams.
