Job description

Overview
Home Location: Rhoads - Philadelphia, PA
Travel Expectation: Business Travel approximately 15%+
Focus Factory Training (D973) is currently looking for an organized, self-motivated Structural Welding Instructor to support the strategic sourcing initiatives at the Rhoads Focus Factory Philadelphia, PA. This position will report to the on-site Chief of Training.
The Instructor will be part of a team, responsible for the training of supplier students in various courses related to various structural welding processes and wire types, as well as additional welding related requirements. Qualified candidates will have a strong sense of commitment to Safety and Procedural Compliance, be a self-starter and possess strong verbal & written communication skills. Candidates must also be driven by a desire to develop themselves and others, and possess the ability to multi-task with a friendly, approachable customer service demeanor.
Responsibilities & Duties - The responsibilities & duties include but are not limited to:
  • Instructing multiple welding related classroom courses including Workmanship, AWPSS and Safety Briefs
  • Instructing multiple structural related classroom courses
  • Directing and assessing hands on training with practice and tests
  • Enforcing safety rules and regulations in training and during deck plate audits
  • Assessing student performance & identifying nonconformance to policies, procedures and technical documents
  • Supporting various course content reviews and related activities
  • Conducting assessments as needed/scheduled
  • Manage class rosters and training OQE submittal paperwork
  • Meeting with Focus Factory Leadership regarding student performance as needed
  • Consistently grade tests and quizzes to ensure knowledge capture and understanding of training topics
  • Communicate with other Training team members to advance work and communicate issues
  • Supporting special training projects as required
  • Support the Training department goals and objectives with other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications
Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of welding trade experience
  • Ability to participate on business travel up to 15%

Preferred:
  • Advanced educational course work including certifications, associates or other advanced education degree
  • Instructing/teaching experience
  • Leadership experience (working leader, MDU, SS ...ETC)
  • Currently qualified & proficient in 3 or more welding processes
  • Experience with non-destructive testing, AWPSS & SRT
  • Proficiency with communication & virtual technologies
