Tier 1 Help Desk Technician – On-Site

Location: Goose Creek, SC
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Employment Type: Full-time, hourly
Work Location: On-site

Position Overview

We are seeking a Tier 1 Help Desk Technician to join the IT support team at our corporate headquarters in Goose Creek, SC.

This position provides first-line technical support to employees across multiple locations. The technician will respond to support requests, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, manage user accounts, and help ensure our systems operate reliably.

We are looking for a self-motivated, customer-focused problem solver who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The successful candidate will communicate technical information clearly, learn new systems quickly, and provide a consistently positive support experience.


Responsibilities

  • Respond to help desk calls, emails, and support tickets promptly and professionally
  • Diagnose and resolve common hardware, software, network, and access issues
  • Troubleshoot and repair local and remote computer systems
  • Support employees at multiple locations using phone and remote-access tools
  • Assist with software installations, upgrades, and security patching
  • Maintain accurate change logs, version records, and technical documentation
  • Perform routine system maintenance and performance monitoring
  • Research technical issues and identify appropriate solutions
  • Explain technical information clearly to nontechnical users
  • Set clear expectations regarding support requests, hardware, and software
  • Work with other IT team members to plan and implement system changes
  • Participate in IT and company-wide projects as needed
  • Participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule for production outages after completing training
  • Escalate complex issues to the appropriate team member when necessary

  • Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly

  • Comfortable providing remote support by phone and remote-access tools
  • Some previous experience would be useful, and we do provide a level of training for company specific applications

Physical Requirements

  • Reach, handle equipment, and use a computer keyboard
