Job description

The Operations Specialist, Trade Show is responsible for owning trade show operations, showroom installations, and product movement across the network. This role leads logistics planning, inventory coordination, transportation strategy, and showroom readiness while partnering cross-functionally to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient execution. 

The ideal candidate is a highly organized problem solver who exercises independent judgment, manages multiple priorities, and takes ownership of operational results. 

In This Role

  • Serve as the primary operational owner for all trade shows and showroom inventory activities, including planning, execution, and post-show recovery 
  • Own product movement between warehouses, showrooms, and trade show locations to ensure inventory is available, accurate, and showroom ready 
  • Develop and manage trade show timelines, logistics plans, inventory transfer strategies, and transportation schedules 
  • Exercise independent judgment to plan and prioritize trade show logistics, inventory movements, transportation schedules, and showroom readiness activities while balancing competing business priorities and mitigating operational risks 
  • Maintain accountability for trade show inventory accuracy, asset visibility, and system transactions throughout the inventory lifecycle 
  • Oversee outbound and return shipments while monitoring delivery performance, resolving transportation challenges, and ensuring successful execution 
  • Coordinate business travel and serve as the on-site operational lead during trade show setup, execution, and teardown 
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product Development, Creative Services, Logistics, Inventory Control, and Warehouse Operations to align priorities and drive successful execution 
  • Develop, maintain, and improve operational procedures related to inventory management, logistics, showroom support, and asset tracking 
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including inventory tracking technology, RFID implementation, system optimization, and process enhancements that improve visibility and operational efficiency 
  • Own project communication by tracking milestones, identifying risks, resolving issues, and providing timely updates to key stakeholders 
  • Analyze operational challenges and implement solutions that improve trade show execution, inventory accuracy, and overall business performance 
  • Drive successful execution with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability for project timelines, inventory outcomes, and operational results

The Ideal Person

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations Management, or equivalent experience preferred 
  • 4+ years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, supply chain, inventory management, trade show operations, project management, or related fields 
  • Experience independently managing large operational projects from planning through execution 
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and warehouse operations 
  • Experience coordinating transportation, shipments, and inventory movements across multiple locations 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and operational systems 
  • Experience with WMS, ERP, and inventory management platforms 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting aggressive deadlines 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities 
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, including support of a minimum of four week-long trade show events annually 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience within furniture, retail, wholesale, showroom, or trade show industries 
  • Experience managing cross-functional operational projects 
  • Familiarity with RFID, inventory visibility technologies, and asset tracking systems 
  • Experience supporting showroom installations or large-scale product merchandising projects 
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience
