Summary
Drive financial strategy and business performance through insightful trade promotion analysis and leadership. As a Trade Promotion Analyst Lead, you will oversee the analysis of trade promotion and brokerage programs to support accurate financial reporting, compliance, accrual management, and strategic business decisions. You will partner with Sales, Finance, Claims, and Trade Promotion teams to evaluate trade agreements, customer funding, and program performance while identifying trends, mitigating risks, and recommending solutions that improve financial results and operational effectiveness. This role is ideal for a strategic, detail-oriented leader who excels at translating complex data into actionable insights, influencing cross-functional decision-making, and driving continuous improvement in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
This is an onsite position at our Corporate Offices in Salisbury, MD.
The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Analyze trade promotion and brokerage agreements to identify financial, compliance, and operational risks and ensure proper program setup and execution.
  • Interpret customer agreements, trade funding arrangements, and promotional commitments to determine appropriate financial treatment and system configuration.
  • Evaluate trade spending activity, accrual balances, customer deductions, and payment trends to identify exceptions, variances, and potential financial exposure.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis of trade claims, customer chargebacks, and reconciliation discrepancies.
  • Recommend corrective actions for management review.
  • Analyze sales, shipment, and tonnage data using Essbase, Sales Insights, TPM, and other reporting tools to validate trade funding calculations and business results.
  • Develop and maintain recurring and ad hoc analytical reports used by Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Trade Promotion Management to support business decisions.
  • Identify spending patterns, process inefficiencies, and compliance concerns and communicate findings and recommendations to management.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve complex trade promotion issues and improve reporting accuracy, financial controls, and process effectiveness.
  • Support forecasting, accrual validation, budgeting, and financial planning activities through analysis of historical trade spending and promotional performance.
  • Research and evaluate customer-specific trade activity and funding utilization to support business reviews and management decision-making.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by assessing existing trade processes and recommending enhancements that improve efficiency, accuracy, and controls.
  • Review, validate, and process trade promotional, brokerage, claims, payment, and chargeback activity in accordance with established policies, approval requirements, and financial controls.
  • Support special projects involving trade promotions, customer profitability, financial analysis, reporting automation, and process optimization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field or in the absence of a Bachelor's degree, total related work experience equals 8 years.
  • Possess good knowledge and understanding of the Company's customers within the assigned area.
  • Possess sound business and consumer products industry experience.
  • Be well organized and able to analyze, coordinate, and communicate with multiple groups and departments.
  • Be able to travel with the responsible Regional Sales Manager, Claims Manager, or Director of Supply Chain upon request.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Company's Order Through Cash and Supply Chain processes.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
  • Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional movement to other offices or buildings.
  • May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
  • May need to access files, supplies, and equipment.
  • Work activity occurs in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
