Join the Heritage Home Service Team as the HVAC Install Trade Manager in the Portland, ME service area

As a Trade Manager in the HVAC industry, you will lead a team of technicians and team leads to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient installation work. You'll serve as a key operational leader, supporting the General Manager in driving performance, team development, and customer satisfaction.
What You'll Do:
Team Leadership & Development
  • Supervise, coach, and develop technicians through daily huddles, weekly meetings, 1:1s, and Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
  • Set performance expectations and conduct evaluations
  • Promote a positive, collaborative team culture aligned with company values
  • Plan and implement training to support growth and adaptability

Project Coordination
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee installation projects, collaborating with other departments and trades
  • Monitor progress and make on-the-fly adjustments to stay on track and meet quality standards

Quality Assurance & Safety
  • Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular inspections
  • Address call-backs by meeting technicians onsite to resolve issues and demonstrate our commitment to service excellence
  • Support a culture of safety and continuous improvement

Technical & Resource Support
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance for complex tasks
  • Coordinate with warehouse and field staff to ensure all tools, materials, and equipment are available and used efficiently

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Maintain communication with clients, project managers, and internal teams
  • Address concerns proactively and uphold high service standards
  • Ensure projects reflect pride in workmanship and team accountability

Operational Management
  • Participate in Level 10 meetings and contribute to department planning
  • Analyze project data and contribute to reporting, budgeting, and resource optimization
  • Monitor call counts, labor, and job costs to meet revenue and efficiency targets

Availability & Emergency Response
  • Participate in on-call rotation and be available during emergencies (e.g., extreme weather, urgent recalls)
  • Maintain flexible availability, including weekends and nights, as required by the GM

What You'll Bring:
  • Several years of HVAC trade experience with a strong technical foundation preferred
  • Proven supervisory experience with strong communication and leadership skills
  • Deep understanding of safety practices, installation standards, and field operations
  • Proficiency with reporting tools and software; valid driver's license
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in diverse weather conditions
