VH6 Associate (Fleet Operations)

Location: San Francisco, CA 94103
Work Environment: In-Person
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $34.00/hour

We are hiring a VH6 Associate to support an industry-leading autonomous ride-hailing company in San Francisco. This role is critical to maintaining vehicle readiness, fleet operations, mission preparation, and logistics for autonomous vehicle testing and service operations.

Available Shifts

Applicants must be available for one of the following schedules:

  • Tuesday–Saturday | 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
  • Saturday–Wednesday | 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
  • Wednesday–Sunday | 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
  • Thursday–Monday | 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
  • Sunday–Thursday | 11:00 PM–7:30 AM (Overnight)

Key Responsibilities

Fleet & Mission Readiness

  • Ensure autonomous test vehicles, equipment, and workspaces are clean, organized, and mission-ready.
  • Perform routine vehicle charging and equipment preparation.
  • Execute mission preparation procedures, including software launch, hardware/software verification, system configuration, and data collection.
  • Verify vehicle readiness in accordance with operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and operational records.

Fleet Operations & Logistics

  • Coordinate vehicle movement, storage, and fleet logistics across multiple locations.
  • Support inventory organization and transportation of spare parts.
  • Assist the Incident Response Team during vehicle recovery operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional operations, logistics, and engineering teams to maximize fleet readiness.

Technical Support

  • Assist Base Operations technicians with basic mechanical and maintenance tasks, including fluid changes, wiring checks, and component replacements.
  • Support vehicle testing activities, documentation, traffic control, cone courses, and pre-mission setup.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of professional experience in fleet operations, automotive, logistics, technical operations, or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% as needed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a safety-first mindset.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs throughout the shift.
  • Must successfully pass a background check, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical trade school certificate or Associate degree in Automotive Technology or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting fleet operations, autonomous vehicles, automotive service, or mobility programs.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
  • Experience working with vehicle diagnostics, software deployment, or technical mission support.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and logistics operations.
