Senior Manager, Sales Planning

Location: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid)
Reports To: Head of Canada Sales

About the Role

Church & Dwight Canada is seeking a Senior Manager, Sales Planning to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Sales organization. This position serves as a strategic advisor to the Head of Sales, leveraging data, analytics, and financial insights to drive sales performance, improve decision making, and support sustainable business growth.

The successful candidate will lead key planning processes, manage trade investments, enhance forecasting capabilities, and partner closely with Sales, Finance, CSP, and cross functional teams to ensure exceptional execution and profitable growth. This role also includes leadership responsibility for a direct report supporting key strategic customers.

What You'll Do

Sales Planning, Forecasting & Financial Management

  • Partner with the Head of Sales, Sales Finance, and Sales Directors to develop accurate forecasts and robust financial plans.
  • Lead Sales annual planning activities, including AQR, quota development, and risk and opportunity tracking.
  • Manage customer trade spend investments and support strategies that maximize profitability.
  • Allocate and monitor trade funds to ensure budget compliance, strong ROI, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Conduct trade investment and profitability analyses to support strategic business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain quarterly customer scorecards for key customers, including:
    • Net Sales performance
    • Profitability metrics
    • Cost-to-serve analysis
    • Forecast accuracy
    • Joint Business Plan (JBP) performance

Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Partner with Customer Teams, Sales Finance, and CSP teams to align strategies and strengthen financial oversight.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve forecasting accuracy, and enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Lead enhancements to the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process through Prophecy.
  • Manage the Prophecy planning calendar and ensure alignment across commercial and operational teams.
  • Oversee ongoing enhancements to Thor forecasting tools and reporting processes.
  • Support customer planning and ensure alignment with corporate strategies and business objectives.
  • Manage brand transitions within customer and channel portfolios to optimize customer profitability and business outcomes.

Leadership & Development

  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and analytical excellence.
  • Share best practices and drive capability development across the Sales organization.

What You'll Bring

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

Experience

  • 6 to 8 years of progressive experience within a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) headquarters environment.
  • Strong background in Sales Operations, Trade Marketing, Field Sales, or related commercial functions.
  • Experience managing trade investments, forecasting, and financial planning processes.

Skills & Competencies

  • Deep understanding of retailer go to market strategies and channel dynamics.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing profitability and trade investments.
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience working with syndicated data sources, business analytics tools, and reporting methodologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
  • Experience analyzing retail promotional effectiveness and investment returns.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast paced environment.

Compensation

The Ontario compensation range for this position is $124,000 to $170,000.

Actual starting salary will be based on factors including internal equity, experience, skills, qualifications, market competitiveness, and geographic location.
