Job description

Job Title: Senior IT Architect, Veeva Domain
About This Role: As the Veeva Domain Architect, you will play a pivotal role in Biogen's strategic platform, driving innovation, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance across Development, Quality, Regulatory, Safety, and Commercial functions. You will serve as the architecture authority, providing enterprise-level leadership and governance to ensure scalable and business-aligned solutions within the Veeva ecosystem. Embedded within the Enterprise Application Services (EAS) organization, you will translate business needs into scalable configurations and data integration models. Your role involves defining and governing target-state architecture, platform standards, and integration strategies, while aligning with business objectives and regulatory requirements. You will provide architecture leadership for complex initiatives, guide configuration teams, and ensure solutions meet business requirements and long-term architectural strategies.
What You'll Do:
  • Translate business needs into scalable Veeva system configurations and process flows.
  • Guide and mentor configuration and development teams throughout solution delivery.
  • Review and approve key configuration designs for compliance with business requirements.
  • Provide architecture oversight during implementation, release planning, and platform enhancements.
  • Act as the primary architecture authority for cross-vault capabilities and integrations.
  • Drive architecture consistency and solution standardization across the Veeva ecosystem.
  • Define and govern target-state architecture across various Veeva Vaults.
  • Own platform standards, architecture reviews, and governance processes.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with Veeva Product teams for roadmap alignment.
  • Partner with Functional IT leadership on platform strategy and investment decisions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to ensure alignment with business objectives and enterprise architecture standards.

Who You Are: You are a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of enterprise architecture within regulated Life Sciences organizations. Your ability to drive consistency across Development, Regulatory, Quality, and Commercial Clouds is complemented by your excellent communication skills. You thrive in dynamic environments, working independently and collaboratively. Your experience with Veeva Vault platforms or similar applications positions you as a trusted advisor, aligning technology investments with business objectives. You are outcome-oriented, capable of assessing business capabilities and identifying strategic opportunities.
Required Skills:
  • 8+ years of experience in Veeva System Configuration/Design, Solution Architecture for Life Sciences, and/or IT Consulting within Life Sciences.
  • Experience with Veeva Vault system configurations and design for Veeva Safety and Clinical or similar vaults.
  • Proven experience defining and governing architecture standards across multiple domains.
  • Experience leading cross-functional architecture initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams within dynamic environments.
  • Strategic thinking with an ability to align technology investments with business objectives.
  • Knowledge of regulatory impacts to data and processes in Life Sciences.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience governing cross-vault architecture and master data management.
  • Familiarity with systems such as Veeva Vault, TrackWise QMS, CTMS, eTMF, EDC.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks like TOGAF or ArchiMate.
  • Agile SAFe Scrum Master and/or Product Owner Certification.

Additional Information
The base compensation range for this role is: $133,000.00-$178,000.00
Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual, business unit and company performance.
