Tracking Pixel information

What is a tracking pixel?

Tracking pixels are small, invisible images embedded in emails or web pages that collect data about user behavior. When a user opens an email or visits a web page with a tracking pixel, information such as IP address, device type, and user actions are sent back to the server. Marketers and website owners use tracking pixels to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and understand user engagement. While they help optimize marketing strategies, tracking pixels also raise privacy concerns, so their use is often regulated.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a digital marketing tracking specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Digital Marketing Tracking Specialist, you need a solid understanding of web analytics, data tracking methodologies, and digital marketing principles, often supported by a relevant degree or certification. Familiarity with tools like Google Tag Manager, Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, and conversion tracking platforms is essential. Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills help you implement accurate tracking and explain insights to stakeholders. These competencies ensure reliable data collection, enabling effective campaign measurement and optimization for business growth.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals managing tracking pixels in digital marketing campaigns?

Managing tracking pixels often involves coordinating with multiple teams such as web development, analytics, and marketing. Common challenges include ensuring correct pixel placement, avoiding duplicate or missing data, and maintaining compliance with privacy regulations like GDPR and CCPA. Attention to detail and clear communication are essential, as even a small error in pixel configuration can impact campaign tracking and reporting accuracy. Regular testing and collaboration with other stakeholders help mitigate these challenges and ensure effective campaign measurement.

Job description

The Organization:

Revel Marketing Partners is a full-service digital marketing agency built on one simple idea: do what’s right for the client, every time.

They’re a team of cross-channel strategists and sharp executors who don’t operate in silos. Instead, they build integrated marketing programs that meet customers where they are—across paid, earned, and owned channels—while keeping business outcomes front and center.

Revel is collaborative, low-ego, and deeply invested in both client success and team growth. The leadership team has worked together for years, creating a culture that’s stable, thoughtful, and quietly high-performing. This is a place where strong opinions are welcomed, ideas are sharpened through collaboration, and people genuinely enjoy working together.

The Position:

The Account Director is a senior, client-facing leader who owns strategy, relationships, and results across a portfolio of accounts.

This is not a “sit above the work” role. You’ll live in the strategy, guide the execution, and ensure everything ladders back to what matters most—client growth. You’ll partner closely with internal teams across paid, earned, and owned channels, while serving as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders.

You’ll lead a book of business with full accountability—driving performance, mentoring your team, and ensuring every program is both strategically sound and operationally tight.

If you’re someone who can zoom out to see the full picture, then zoom in to refine the details—and you take ownership naturally—this role will feel like home.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Oversight

  • Lead cross-channel digital strategy across your book of business
  • Ensure all programs align to client goals and drive measurable outcomes
  • Build forward-looking roadmaps that unlock growth opportunities

Client Partnership

  • Serve as the senior point of contact for key client relationships
  • Build trust with executive-level stakeholders
  • Translate performance into clear, compelling narratives and recommendations

Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Lead and develop Account Coordinators and Strategists
  • Ensure quality, consistency, and alignment across all workstreams
  • Coach, mentor, and elevate team performance over time

Performance & Financial Ownership

  • Own budgets, forecasts, and overall account performance
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities proactively
  • Ensure programs are both effective and profitable

Operations & Execution

  • Oversee workflows, timelines, and QA processes
  • Bring structure and clarity to complex, fast-moving work
  • Anticipate challenges and solve before they become issues

Agency Contribution

  • Support new business and organic growth opportunities
  • Contribute POVs, ideas, and strategic thinking across the agency
  • Help shape and evolve the “Revel Way”

Qualifications:

Experience

  • 5+ years in digital marketing
  • 3+ years in an account leadership role (agency experience strongly preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Strategic & Technical Depth

  • Strong understanding of integrated marketing across paid, earned, and owned channels
  • Experience building forecasts, budgets, and performance roadmaps
  • Comfort owning financial performance and client outcomes
  • Ecommerce experience is highly valued

Core Competencies

  • Clear, confident communicator—especially with senior stakeholders
  • Proven leader who can mentor and develop others
  • Analytical, structured, and solutions-oriented
  • Able to manage multiple priorities without losing focus or quality
  • Strong relationship builder across clients and internal teams
  • Positive, grounded, and aligned with Revel’s collaborative culture

Nice to Have

  • Direct people management experience
  • Hands-on technical depth (GA4, GTM, tracking/pixel troubleshooting)

Salary + Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $85,000 – $130,000 (depending on experience)
  • Unlimited PTO (“no policy” with a 2-week minimum encouraged)
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Monthly wellness stipend + home office support
  • Annual company retreat + local meetups (Denver & Chicago)
  • Charitable contribution matching
  • Professional development + conference reimbursement
  • Sabbatical after 10 years
  • Client referral commissions
  • Pet adoption sponsorship
