Job description

  Position Summary

Execute TPV cell and module characterization at Antora's TPV R&D and manufacturing facility. After training, independently perform photovoltaic cell and module characterization and reliability testing, generating the data that drives TPV R&D, reliability, and manufacturing operations.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • After training, independently perform TPV cell characterization using photoluminescence (PL), external quantum efficiency (EQE), Fourier transform infrared reflectance (FTIR), current-voltage (IV), and other cell and test-article measurements.
  • After training, independently perform TPV module characterization using PL, electroluminescence (EL), lock-in thermography (LIT), IV, and Thermal Tester measurements.
  • Execute measurement system monitoring, update run charts, and flag if measurement systems fall out of control. 
  • Execute reliability tests - stress testing, thermal cycling, and long-duration performance monitoring - and support failure analysis efforts.
  • Learn the basics of how the measurement systems and software operate and the meaning and implications for the data they collect on TPV development and manufacturing.
  • Perform data cleaning, exploration, and visualization; identify and report inconsistencies, oddities, or non-physical results.
  • Communicate technical and non-technical content clearly and maintain reproducible documentation.
  • Support routine calibrations and system maintenance.
  • Learn basic troubleshooting approaches and know when to ask for help.
 Key Qualifications
  • 2+ years experience working in technical labs and/or production environments.
  • 2+ years experience with the characterization of electronic or optoelectronic devices. 
  • Experience handling scientific samples; strong attention to detail.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Reliability, strong work ethic, and a desire to learn.
  • Comfort engaging with problems you haven't encountered before.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
 Additional Qualifications Desired
  • Bachelor's or equivalent in an engineering or technical field (e.g., electrical engineering, physics, materials science).
  • Familiarity with any of: PL, EL, EQE, FTIR/reflectivity, IV (light and/or dark), LIT, TLM, probe stations, or other optical/electrical testing.
  • Experience coding in Python for data handling and automation.
  • Experience with photovoltaic or semiconductor devices and with reliability / accelerated aging tests.

Work Location:  Onsite - Sunnyvale, CA

Salary Range:  $40/hr - $49/hr

Salary Basis:  Hourly

The actual salary offered will be within the posted range and determined based on several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experiences, credentials and expertise, as they pertain to the position's requirements.
