TPG has an exciting opportunity for a Client Coverage Associate to support TPG's Institutional sales effort. 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an ongoing, detailed understanding coverage, business plan and support needs.
  • Assist in building, maintaining and executing a marketing strategy for a wide range of institutional products.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of TPG's product strengths/applicability and apply that knowledge in written and verbal form to clients and prospects.
  • Receive and send correspondence independently and on behalf of the team:
    • Facilitate informational requests from clients/prospects with the ability to understand and identify sensitivities/potential issues
    • Work closely with internal client service, product, accounting and other teams to gather information needed to respond effectively
    • Send detailed meeting follow up email including any relevant customized data or research to clients and prospects
    • Source, evaluate for appropriateness, and initiate RFP/DDQ process with sales/client service
  • Use Salesforce to manage sales process, client engagement and research
    • Create and update contact and coverage records, maintain current details on contacts and organizations
    • Obtain meeting details and organize relevant information including research on the company, relevant news, portfolio information and competitive analysis.
    • Create and track progress of opportunities to support effective pipeline management and outreach, incorporating changes gleaned from reading team's client meeting notes/email traffic.
  • Assist in tiering marketer's organizations in order of interest/priority
  • Provide updates on industry insights such as flows, strategic trends, top asset gatherers and performance data
  • Research news and various industry trade publications; track and update findings in CRM
  • Assist in the coordination and organization of group events (i.e., Portfolio Management conference calls, Capital Markets or product event presentations with broad audiences)

Requirements                     

  • Bachelor's degree required, 2+ years of experience in a fundraising support role for an asset management firm preferred
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced client oriented environment (supporting someone managing numerous relationships with competing deadlines)
  • Maturity and strong judgement
  • Strong communication skills (both in-person and email, and with both internal stakeholders to drive fundraising processes, and with clients)
  • Highly proficient at process management
  • Proactive approach to analyzing investment data and summarizing in a client-friendly fashion
  • Basic knowledge of the financial markets is required as well as an interest in and ability to strengthen knowledge of the markets in general, and specifically of TPG's investment strategies
  • Capable of thinking ahead, identifying potential issues/conflicts/items requiring follow up and proactively communicating them to the team
  • Very strong organization skills, keen attention to detail and effective time management skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications/functions required including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of CRM, preferably Salesforce
  • Series 7 and 63 license or ability to attain within 6 months of joining

It is expected that the annual base salary for this role will range from $120,000 - $140,000. Base salary is one component of TPG's competitive total rewards package which typically includes discretionary compensation, comprehensive health benefits, and paid time off. Other incentives may also be available to certain eligible employees.
